Prior to this he was the Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Analytics at the Advisory Board Company. Previously, he was also the CEO, President and Founder of 360Fresh, Inc., where he led strategy on Healthcare intelligence, advanced analytics and clinical decision-making tools for improving patient quality and safety outcomes. He was a principal investigator of a NCI/NCATS Grant on Cancer Care – Treatment Non-Adherence and Early Warning Systems. He drives thought leadership in the community on the meaningful use of Electronic Medical Records, personalized care and innovative services for Health Care delivery. Ramesh brings to the table several years of experience in industries such as Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Healthcare and Supply-Chain services. He’s been a Manager and World-Wide Program Leader for Enterprise Solutions at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, New York. At IBM, over a 14 year period, he helped drive the vision and strategy for new business solutions on early warning systems, warranty, reliability analytics and value chain management. For his contributions he won three "outstanding innovation" awards and a research division award. He has to his name over 15 US patents, several pending patents, and over 60 research publications. He was visiting faculty at Carnegie Mellon University and he obtained his MS, M.Phil and PhD from Columbia University in the City of New York.
Dr. Riskin is a serial entrepreneur, having founded, run, and sold multiple companies and influenced the lives of millions of patients. He is on consulting faculty at Stanford, as a board-certified surgeon, critical care doctor, palliative care doctor, and clinical informaticist. He has helped shape value-based healthcare, through the Obama Campaign Health Advisory Committee, Congressional testimony, and multiple policy committees. His work in data-driven healthcare has been featured by the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and other leading media.
Laurent pushes the latest technology at CapsicoHealth to achieve business goals, from scalable data platforms and real-time processing for sensors and monitoring devices, to web-based services and mobile applications. He works closely with healthcare professionals to develop patient-focused scenarios, implement clinical pathways and surface evidence-based guidelines to help improve outcomes, relationships and experiences. Laurent has over 20 years of experience in technology, including 14 years at IBM where he developed and helped bring to market eCommerce solutions, advanced web frameworks, enterprise search solutions and socio-collaborative platforms. He then worked for BlackBerry and drove its open source web strategy, creating a developer ecosystem around emerging HTML5 web standards. Subsequently, he co-founded 360Fresh, a healthcare data analytics company focusing on inpatient re-admissions risk management, which was acquired by the Advisory Board Company in 2012. He has over 20 patents and several awards as a leading innovator and is widely experienced, having worked with various technologies and industries. He received his MSc from Brown University in 1995 and a BS from New York University in 1992.
Ravi has worked in health care analytics, software, telemedicine, innovation, entrepreneurship and other technology areas for over 20 years. He served as the former General Manager for Crimson Real-Time at the Advisory Board Company (NASDAQ:ABCO). Prior to the Advisory Board, he co-founded 360Fresh, Inc., a Silicon Valley company that uses semantic mining and predictive data analytics to proactively identify clinical risk in real-time. Ravi served as Chief Strategist and Head of Business Development for 360Fresh, and he helped develop it from a concept to a peer-reviewed, NIH funded, enterprise-class product that was used by leading health systems in the U.S. Prior positions include serving as Executive Director for Services: Science, Management & Engineering (SSME) and Health Care at the Center for IT in the Interest of Society (CITRIS) at UC Berkeley. Other positions include Senior Advisor and Director of IT Research at The Health Technology Center, a San Francisco-based health care 'think tank,' and as Assistant Director for Technology and a founding member of the Center for Health and Technology at the University of California, Davis Health System (UCDHS). He helped found the California Regional Health Information Organization (CalRHIO), co-chaired the California Statewide Health IT Planning Committee, served on the Board of Lumetra, and served as the Technical Chair and as an Advisory Board Member for the California Telehealth Network. His team and work were honored by the California Association of Public Hospitals' Management Excellence Award, four consecutive "Top 10 Telemedicine Program" awards and by a feature in a documentary film. He holds degrees from the University of California, Davis and the University of Chicago, and actively mentors/advises start-up companies as a Mentor at MATTER Chicago.
